Mining directories
There are several different types of mining directories, each providing
different types of information. There are mining directories which list
companies involved in the exploration and extraction of certain precious
metals or gems, such as gold or diamonds. These directories may cover
companies around the globe, or be restricted to a certain region, such as
the South East Asia or North America.
Online mining directories will also usually provide the latest news in
the mining industry and on mining companies. You can search for companies
according to the minerals they mine, or by sectors or even alphabetically.
The directory will list mining companies, giving their website address
and/or contact details, and some comments on the company. They may also
contain listings for mining supplies and equipment, mining jobs and service
providers.
Investing in mining companies
When investing in metals and mining exploration companies, there are
several things to consider about the sector. A major attraction of the
sector is its earnings and valuation leverage to changing commodity prices
and the A$/US$ exchange rate. However, resource company shares frequently
display a higher level of volatility in comparison to industrial companies.
With the higher level of volatility, investors need to identify the specific
reasons behind a particular investment and its attached risk profile within
the sector.
Factors which will influence the share prices in this sector include the
supply of commodities, quality and duration of operations, and exploration
opportunities. The supply of commodities refers to the primary and refined
productive capacities. The quality and duration of operations are a factor
because mines are finite assets, so this will determine how sustainable a
company's earnings are. Lastly, timely and insightful interpretation of
exploration results are necessary for adding value, as they can be extremely
complex and volatile.

Mantle Mining
http://www.mantlemining.com/
Mantle holds a strong portfolio of properties and has potential for both early development of the Company’s gold resources (and hence cash flow), and early exploration success, with the existing resource base offering, in effect, the platform for accelerated growth.
The Company’s pre-development projects named Great Britain and Granite Castle, are both located in the vicinity of Charters Towers in Queensland. Combined, these projects hold approximately 290,000 oz Au in JORC standard gold resources. The resources commence from surface and thereby offer the Company an opportunity to advance both projects to early development of open cut mining operations.
Mantle’s plan is to rapidly close-up the drill spacing, complete feasibility work and bring both these deposits into production, starting with the oxide ore. It is intended that this will provide the Company with earnings to assist with accelerated development of both the primary ore and any additional brownfields resources that may be identified via the Company’s aggressive exploration programs.
