Gold mine tourist attractions
Kingsgate Consolidated Limited is an Australian gold mining and
exploration company operating a modern gold mine and developing mineral
resources in Thailand. Kingsgate Consolidated Limited (Kingsgate) is a
highly successful gold mining and exploration company, traded on the
Australian Stock Exchange (KCN: ASX). The company owns and operates the low
cost Chatree gold mine in central Thailand through its wholly-owned
subsidiary, Akara mining limited, using world's best practice for safe,
environmental and socially responsible operations.
Today the gold industry is well established and instead of hundreds of
gold miners panning for gold in riverbeds, the work is done by huge machines
that sift through mountains of rock, extracting microscopic amounts of the
precious metal. As little as 3 grams per tonne is now considered a payable
amount. After coal, iron ore, and crude petroleum, gold currently ranks
fourth in value of all Australia's merchandise exports.
Hard rock ores form the basis of the majority of commercial gold recovery
operations, and are mined using open pit or sub-surface mining techniques.
Gold is then extracted from the ore through a combination of comminution,
mineral processing, hydrometallurgical, and pyrometallurgical processes to
be performed on the ore.
Gold mine tourist attractions
Gold mine tourist attractions are great for kids and adults alike, with
heaps of activities and opportunities to learn about gold mining and the
life of gold miners. Experience how mining was done in the 1800s through
gold mine tours, panning for gold, and exploring gold mine museums. Even
take home a free sample of gold ore.
Some mines will even allow you to work the mine drills and search for quartz
pieces for gold. You can also find recreation of old gold mining towns,
complete with actors in costumes from the pertaining era and period
accommodation.
Kingsgate's rapidly growing reserve/resource position is fuelled by
exploration within a surrounding gold province which exhibits world class
potential. Click here for more information on our products and services...

Gold Mine Tours
http://www.goldminetours.com/
After over fifty years of conducting public mine tours, this country's only 1,000 foot vertical shaft gold mine tour, just got bigger and better as an adventure never to be forgotten by visitors descending the earth downward 1,000 feet vertically to explore the underground mine workings of the 1890's hard rock gold miner.

In a newly opened tour area of the mine, visitors will stand in awe on the 1,000 foot mine level as they gaze upward into the Queen Bess Stope that extends upwards 600 feet to the Mollie Kathleen 400 foot level, as they learn the life of the "stope-rat miner".

http://www.gulf-savannah.com.au/
The Savannah Way is a themed adventure drive from Cairns to Broome through Katherine. The route traverses some of Australia’s most spectacular scenery including 4 World Heritage Areas and over 15 National Parks and covers almost 3000km, an excellent length for a 14 day adventure across Northern Australia.
The route is designed to also accommodate shorter trips with linkages to other themed routes (the Matilda, Overlanders’ and Explorers’ Highways) and has the potential for fly / drive packages and to attract a significant number of visitors to the North Queensland region.
Mining in the Gulf commenced with gold in 1869 with discoveries at Gilberton and in 1870 at Cumberland (Georgetown). The Croydon Gold Field was established in 1885 and until the first batteries were erected in 1886 the ore had to be carted to Georgetown some 150 kilometres away, for crushing.

Welcome to the Homestake Gold Mine Visitors Center's Website
http://www.homestaketour.com/
The story of the famous Black Hills Gold Rush has been told and retold. These accounts include countless history books, numerous fictional novels and most recently HBO’s loosely historical series, Deadwood. The times of "fabulous fortunes" were sensational, wild, perhaps wicked and short lived. The actual Deadwood/Lead gold rush began in 1875 and ended in 1877. Yet gold was to play a huge role in the area’s history, economy and development for many, many years to come.
Without a doubt, the best place to begin to uncover the fascinating story of the Homestake Gold Mine is the Homestake Visitor Center at 160 West Main Street, Lead SD. The Homestake Visitor Center provides captivating surface tours that explore the historic town of Lead and both Homestake Gold Mine's underground and surface operations. It also offers free viewing of the historic 1876 Open Cut mining area, artifacts, an informational mining video, historic and educational memorabilia and a gift shop.
