The Perenjori Area lies to the north of Wongan Hills and contains the Perenjori greenstone belt and several smaller greenstone belts. It is also adjacent to the greenstone belt that hosts the Golden Grove VMS deposits and several gold deposits.
The area is thought to be prospective for both gold and VMS deposits and the roadside sampling has outlined a number of gold and copper anomalies. Ten new tenement applications have been submitted to cover both these anomalies and also prospective geological settings interpreted from recently available regional magnetic data.
Surface geochemical sampling has outlined a N-S trending gold anomalyzone, 6 km long and up to1 km wide. This anomaly, the Rocky Ridge Prospect, is still open and further geochemical sampling is planned.
A detailed airborne magnetic survey covering the prospect area has given excellent defi nition of a series of magnetic units (probable greenstone stratigraphy) which are coincident with the gold anomaly.
Initial 'interface' drilling (drilling designed to evaluate the relatively soft, weathered material extending down to the interface with therelatively hard and unweathered bedrock) outlined significant gold mineralisation including 7 metres grading 2.52 g/t gold from 9 metres. |
